Lord and Sitter
And the good book said, "The Lord is my sitter, there is nothing I shall watch..."
Wait a minute... It doesn't say that AT ALL! Someone should tell that to Julian Jay Johnson, a man who left his three very young children at home while he went to cause trouble at a bar. After being caught he said he left the children under "God's" supervision.
There's a song That Carrie Underwood sang called, "Jesus Take the Wheel." But Carrie was't literally saying that Jesus should take over the operation of driving her car for her. It was a metaphor. Besides, Jesus probably never got his license. Why would he? He can just appear anywhere. Teleportation is his ride.
Look, whether you believe in God or not, we can all safely agree that assuming the man upstairs is going to take direct action to your every wish extremely is unlikely and ranks pretty low on the "good idea" scale.
If you don't believe in him, it just looks stupid and if you do believe in him (and are not a moron) you know he's got more important things to do than watch your kids—that's your job.
Sigh.
